Project LIBVO

Hi,

Project libvo - The video output library project is now open for API
specification and implementation. libvo implements generic video output
on different display targets i.e. X11/Xvideo, SDL or GGI. It can be
easily extended to use your display target.
Projects who (will) currently use libvo are: mpeg2dec and oms. If you
write a libvo plugin, you can immediately use it in any player
supporting libvo without modifications! (currently oms and mpeg2dec).

The currently inofficial project homepage is at
http://www.linuxvideo.org/libvo/ some links aren't working yet. And
content is subject to heavy changes :-)

If you're interested in libvo for your player and/or want to help us
defining a common video output library API please join the
livid-libvo@linuxvideo.org Mailinglist by sending a mail to
livid-libvo-subscribe@linuxvideo.org

The discussion base for the video output library api can be found at
http://www.linuxvideo.org/libvo/libvo-api/ in the doc subdir. It's
currently a merge of mpeg2dec libvo and oms player needs.

Points of interest:
libvo.h defines the plugin registration
video_out.h (esp. the vo_instance_s member) defines the video output
plugin.

NOTE: Please consider the current stage of libvo-api "a hack" and
"discussion base"! - means don't flame me yet ;-)

hope we get this working soon,
domi.
