Sorry, I forgot to add a smiley to my original posting.
But I am surprised, nonetheless. Hacking this functionality is routine...
back home, I am not aware of anyone who has a locked DVD playback system,
either standalone or as part of a PC system. (that's mainly because region
4 releases are relatively few and usually much lower quality than region 1
- missing extra features, not so many surround sound options,
different/unwanted second language audio tracks. So almost all disks sold
are region 1).
Damn region locking, it is one of many things that annoy me very much. It
doesn't achieve its aim, and it is just a nuisance.
